This company, Shaw Academy, charged me ($35) for something that I don’t even remember that I enrolled in.
Being a person who really loves learning, I remember creating an account with them last June 202 and was just browsing their courses and I didn't even realise until now that I was being charged me $69.99 for a course??? What course?? For some, $100 is not that much, but for me, it is $100! I could have used or paid something else 🤨 Worst... THIS IS AN UNAUTHORISED CHARGING. (already cut the card) 😓
So, I reached out to them through Twitter. After a day, THEY BLOCKED ME!
Did anyone get the same experience?
Maybe you can help me spread this to warn others to NEVER EVER CREATE ANY ACCOUNT WITH THEM NOR BROWSE THEIR WEBSITE!!!

I was a victim too of their false advertisement 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ I end up requesting na lang for my credit card cancellation para di na nila ko ma charge kahit may request nako to discontinue sa course nila. I even reported their fb page as fraud 😠 Buti na yung na charge na lang ako ng 400 for my ccrd replacement request kesa pahirapan pa ko to cancel my subscription sa Shaw Academy na yan
Yes I got scammed by that website as well. They would not cancel by subscription and still keep charging me until now. So I decided to change my card. Buti nalang nag palit si gcash ng number at di na magamit yung luma kong card.
Muntik na rin ako maisahan ng Shaw Academy. Sabi “Free course” daw. Then, after ko maglagay ng details ko, sa bandang huli kukunin ang card details pala. Wary ako sa mga kumukuha ng card details baka malimutan ko i-cancel or baka magamit ang card details ko. So nagressearch muna ako at nakita kong mala-scam pala ‘to. Hindi ko na tinuloy ang pag sign-up but since nakuha na nila ang name at email address ko, ini-spam nila ako ng mahigit 1 buwan puro reminders about sa payment. Natigil lang nung nag-unsubscribe ako sa email promo nila.
Probably nagsign-up din siya sa "free" trial in June at di niya nacancel. Pahirapan magcancel dyan kasi walang option sa site mismo. Ang daming pages na dapat mong iskip before ang last page na nagsasabi need mo tawagan ang hotline nila para magcancel ng subscription. Di ko rin nagawa kaya after 1 month kahit wala akong course na nasimulan, nacharge ako. Nagemail ako sa kanila at di raw sila nagrerefund. Pero sabi sa akin kinancel na raw nila.
Wag po kayo magpapadala sa mga free trial. Kasi pag hindi nyo na-cancel yung subscription before the trial ends (which usually sobrang pahirapan mag cancel), they will automatically bill you every month. Kahit mag dispute kayo sa bank ng CC nyo, talo kayo kung wala kayong cancellation confirmation. So be very vigilant sa mga sina-sign-upan na mga free trial po. Do a lot of research first if you see any offer that’s too good to be true.
Shaw Academy is so shady. You'll be signed up for free, you'll get the payment details, then when you cancel, it will be difficult. It takes time for the support to reply.
