As far as accepting PhP50 an hour for teaching ESL online, I understand that PhP50 is better than zero; but is it really PhP50/hour?

Let's say you get a full 10 hours a day, that makes PhP500/day. Again, let's say you work 6 days a week, that brings you to PhP3,000 a week with 4 weeks a month. You get PhP12,000.

PhP12,000 is NOT your take home pay.

You need a working computer. (https://ph.priceprice.com/laptops/)

Now, add your power bill, your food and your other expenses (headset, mouse, etc.). You need to figure in your food. You still eat right?

Let's go back to your PhP12,000/month. Is it still PhP12,000?

So, PhP50/hour does not take into account your expenses to service to these schools that underpay you. Do the Math. The truth is in the numbers.

wow! What company pays 50 php per hour? 😥

@Maria 51talk is a really good example.

50/hr? I thought starting with 50/25min class was the lowest.

Better work on my milkteashop...im giving 400/8 hrs shift plus OT with 1 day off😑

Even 100/hr would put you just a bit above the red line. I can understand office-based schools where you just have to bring yourself to work and not mind these expenditures.
